It is wonderful to know that people all over the world are concerned about the future of our children. If you would like us to add a picture of your fundraising event to this page, please get in touch.
2011
* Thank you to all of Glenn Marvin’s supporters who donated money through the Give A Little Website to cheer him along in the Kepler Challenge – a 60kms endurance race in NZ. Glenn knocked off 17 minutes from his previous race record. He’s a little sore this week but very excited that nearly $1500 was raised for the Firefly home. This money will be used for various resources around the home including building a security fence around the compound.

* Thank you to Yolande (10) and Etienne (7) French-South African children living in Dubai. They are travelling to Nepal on holidays with their parents over the Christmas period and decided to give the trip some meaning! The children made a powerpoint presentation and spoke in their respective classes. They had a great reaction from their classmates who have donated their old clothes and toys to give to the Nepali children. For the street children they have collected new toothpaste and brushes to hand out with Indira’s help and they plan to use their cash donations from a baking stall to go to the markets in Kathmandu and buy some little things for the Nepali children.
Their project has been a success and they are overwhelmed by the kindness that has been shown towards them. “It has been a very enriching experience to us so far, and the children and myself are very much looking forward to hand over all the things and meet the children.” (mother Christel)
* Thank you to Probus Whangaparaoa and also to the Ladies of Orewa Masonic Lodge for their donations. It was lovely to talk to both groups about the beautiful children and the work we are doing up there.
2010

* Thank you to Gill and Jean from the UK who recently donated stationery, toothbrushes and activities to FCH whilst passing through Kathmandu on their way to trekking in the Himalayas. They learned of our orphanage through the website and had a lovely day meeting the children and staff.”
* Thank you to John and Susan Williamson from Whangaparaoa (New Zealand), who donated a new and much needed solar panel – the children and staff will enjoy warm water for their baths during winter.
* Thank you to the Leary Family (Ranjana’s sponsors) who donated money for a new computer and printer for the FCH office. Hari, our accountant, is delighted, as are the other administrators.

* Thank you to the Leary family from Taranaki, who sponsor Ranjana, and to Lincoln Kyne all of whom helped paint the internal rooms of the orphanage whilst they were visiting in October.
* Thank you to Nikki Lovrich for donating these t-shirts that she personally designed with her late sister Victoria.
* Thank you to Parnell College in Auckland, who have donated $500. This money was raised by several students who won a community colouring competition and chose to donate some to charity.
* A big thank you to Capital Cause, a Wellington based charitable trust, who ran an online competition to raise funds for us. The winner, Kiwi Josie Hopkins, will be heading up to Kathmandu to meet the kids as part of the prize. Capital Cause raised $2,600 towards ongoing costs at the home.
* Takapuna Playcentre rallied together and performed songs at Takapuna Market one Sunday morning to raise funds for us. Such wonderful initiative and the kids really enjoyed it. Thank you for raising $125! We also want to thank the centre for donating a box of second hand books.
* Judy Holdem from Dannevirke has kindly donated money to our orphanage for the second time. These spontaneous one-off donations are a wonderful help, as expenses often exceed our incomings. Thanks Judy.
