New Zealander Amanda McKay has remained dedicated to the welfare of abandoned Nepali children since she first visited the country in 2004. Compelled to establish a home for these children before returning to NZ, Amanda insisted education be a key part of the home’s values. With university qualifications behind her, she is well aware of the positive influence education and knowledge has played in her life. Her love for the Nepali people sees her making annual visits to the orphanage, keeping in daily contact with the staff via email and skype and frequently speaking to schools/groups/clubs about her cause. Amanda is responsible for raising funds and maintaining contact with sponsors, all on a voluntary basis. All funds received go to the children. All staff and administration costs outside of Nepal, are gifted to the Trust.
