Aita

His story

Aita was born in 1995 and comes from Manakamana village. His mother is dead and his father works at a river in Kathmandu as a labourer. His father is not able to bring him up due to lack of money and quality time.

When Aita arrived at FCH, he had only the clothes on his back and had never been to school. He is older brother to Santosh. When we found these boys, they were working long hours with their father at the river – dragging heavy stones from one spot to another.

Aita and Santosh were the first children at FCH and were our incentive for starting the home.

Update 2012

Aita has grown into a handsome young man with a love of sports. he is gifted with a natural athletic ability and wants to be a sports coach/teacher. His recent achievements are gaining his karate black belt and entering the national mountain biking competition where he fared well. We intend to nurture this love of sports once he completes his SLC (school leaving certificate) next March.

To gently reintegrate Aita into society, away from the institution of a children’s home, we will put him (Rupesh and Bijay included) into a room nearby so they can gain a little more independence and freedom. They will return daily for meals, to wash their clothes and mix with the FCH family. We are currently looking for a room to rent nearby our home. I will keep you posted on this progress.

Sponsorship

Aita is sponsored by Pirkko Lamponen of Finland and by general FCH sponsors. Please contact us if you would like to enquire about part or full sponsorship of another child from our home.
