His story

Born in 2001, Bibek was rescued from prison by Indira Rana Magar in January 2009. His father and mother have an indefinite sentence of ten years jail after they claim they killed someone in self defence. They are awaiting trial in the Rotohaut District Prison, where Indira found Bibek. He is a happy boy on the surface, but deeply affected by his time in jail.

He has never been to school, so it is wonderful to be able to give him this opportunity to be educated. He would otherwise be living in prison.

His personality

Bibek has settled well into FCH. He is a simple boy with a big imagination. The love the children have shown him since he arrived has really helped him overcome his shyness and fearfulness – issues he developed as a result of being in prison with his parents. He is active and loves drawing and colouring in. He is a good boy. I really enjoyed his company during my recent visit (April 2012) and I can see his confidence will continue to soar with the love and nurture that surrounds him at our Firefly home.
