His story:

Born in 2001. Rajib’s mother is in jail. He does not know his father because he left the family when they were very young. We rescued him and his older brother (Bikash) from the central women’s jail this year. They both live in our Sankhu home and are adapting well. Rajib’s father’s name is Rajesh Shrestha and mother’s name is Urmila Shrestha. His mother is in Central Womens Jail in Kathmandu for five years. He came to our home in 2010.

His personality:

Rajib is very sweet and helpful. He is studying in class 3 in Junkiri Public School in Sankhu. He is studying very hard and his favorite subject is English. He says he wants to be pilot when he grows up. He enjoys playing volleyball & football, also dancing and drawing cartoons. He also likes acting. His best friend is Sabin.

Update 2012

Rajib has settled in well to the home. He is quiet amongst his peers but always smiling and considerate of others. He loves games and activites that give him a chance to win! His recent exams indicate that he is doing really well at school and remembers information well. Rajib really enjoyed the gift from his sponsors Michael and Mathius. I don’t think he had seen anything like it. He sleeps with it under his pillow! I’m really pleased with Rajib’s progress and the life that Firefly is giving him.
