Rupesh
His story:
Rupesh was born in 1994 in Madhevgurka, a beautiful little village situated in the central hills of Nepal, just behind Trisuli.
Rupesh is the youngest of three children. He has a brother and a sister, who are still living with his mother. His father passed away a few years ago from a sleeping-disease. He regularly fell asleep without notice, but at a farewell party, when his father was leaving to go and work in India, he fell asleep and never woke up in front of Rupesh, his family and the entire village.
Too poor to feed Rupesh, his mother sent him to an orphanage in Kathmandu for hope of a better life. Sadly, Rupesh was beaten often and didn’t get enough food. So he came to the lovely home of FCH.
Update 2012:
How tall, strong and handsome he has become! Rupesh is such a lovely young man with great ambition. He has just finished his SLC (school leaving certificate) exams and now has three months off. He has a mature outlook and recognises that being busy is beneficial. So in the next three months he is going to do a permaculture course for a week. Following that, he will find a part time job until college starts. He is not sure what he wants to study yet but he is putting a lot of thought into business and hotel management. I’ll keep you posted about his decision. Recently Rupesh took part in the national mountain biking competitions. He is naturally athletic so he found it a lot of fun. As you know, he gained his black belt in karate late last year. We have so much to be proud of him for! As always Rupesh is open, spontaneous and thankful. He is such a pleasure to help, guide and support.
