We receive no government funding and as such rely entirely on the generosity of private donors. You don’t have to become a full-time sponsor to help – any donations, large or small, and whether regular, ocassional or one-offs, are greatly appreciated.
Every dollar you donate goes directly to the source
If you are considering making a donation or becoming a sponsor, please know that every single cent you donate reaches the children. Your sponsorship will not be used for administration overheads (please see our FAQs page for more information on administration fees). With the aid of this website, you will see exactly where your money goes by keeping in touch with FCH and the children. Some of the older children are now emailing their sponsors!!

How much does it cost to sponsor a child?
For 6,000 Nepalese Rupees a month (approx. 120 NZD, 85 USD, 65 EUR – click here to find out the current exchange rate for your currency) a child can be fed, clothed and educated at a private school. This cost includes includes medical, dental and extra-curricular activities.
Breakdown of costs (in Nepalese Rupees) per month for one child:
2,500 Education
1,700 Food and nutrition
1,800 Clothing, health care, toiletries, stationery
Regular Donations
If you would like to sponsor a child, but can’t afford to cover the monthly cost on your own, don’t worry – it is possible to donate as much as your monthly budget accommodates. Anything from NZ$10 a month! You will share the costs with other sponsor(s) – this will be organised from our end.
At the moment, all our children are sponsored. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.
You can also choose to give it as a general donation to help cover the day-to-day running expenses of the center.
One-Off Donations
We also welcome one-off donations, as there are often unexpected costs that arise. Please view the Acknowledgements page for a history of one-off donations from supporters.
